Food parcels delivered to Horsham residents in need

The Horsham District Council Neighbourhood Wardens for Steyning, Bramber and Upper Beeding have helped distribute food parcels to local residents over half-term.

The council had received a call for help from Horsham Matters Food Bank, who needed people to deliver food parcels in Steyning.

The Neighbourhood Wardens responded to the challenge and delivered 33 parcels to residents.

Last week the food bank delivered 206 food parcels across the district to families who had been struggling financially to provide food during half term.

These parcels provided meals for 836 people, including 500 children.

Councillor Tricia Youtan, Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for Community Matters and Wellbeing, said, "Horsham Matters Food Bank does a terrific job of helping local people and I am so pleased that our Neighbourhood Wardens have been able to help distribute food to those who need it in Steyning."

The Horsham District Neighbourhood Wardens also helped deliver parcels over the Christmas period last year.
