Police are investigating a report of a serious assault inside The Foundry pub in Southgate, Chichester, at around 1.30 am on Saturday, 28 February.
The victim, a man in his 40s, sustained a significant head injury during the incident, and remains in hospital at this time.
A 24-year-old man from Chichester was arrested at the premises on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, and he has since been released on bail.
As police work to establish the full circumstances, we are asking anyone who saw what happened, or who may have mobile footage of the incident to contact police.
