A new multi-functional space will soon be built inside Leigh Park Library, thanks to £60,000 of government funding aimed at expanding community support and services for local residents.
Services will include health visiting, early years support, and SEND advice, alongside voluntary sector programmes offering practical and emotional support.
The space will also host activities focused on adult learning, financial resilience, and food access, delivered in partnership with Citizens Advice, MIND, the Trussell Trust, and Hampshire Achieves.
The funding is part of a wider £1.17 million grant towards Hampshire County Council to support the development of community hubs and libraries across the region.
A report by the county council said the investment would help Leigh Park Library “become a true community hub, bringing people together and providing practical support where it’s needed most”.
