As part of an investigation into the death of a woman at an address in Bitterne, police have now charged a man with murder.
Officers attended an address in Harcourt Road just after 7.30pm on Monday, the 29th of December, where Lisa-Marie Hopkins was found with a serious head injury.
The 34-year-old was taken to hospital, but died several days later.
Kevin Pead, 45, of The Avenue, Southampton, was previously charged with attempted murder and remanded in custody, after appearing at court.
Following consultation with the CPS, he has now been charged with murder after appearing at Southampton Crown Court (20 January).
He will next appear at court on Thursday, the 19th of February.
