New wellbeing hubs have opened in Chichester and Littlehampton to support emergency service and frontline workers who spend long hours on the road in high-pressure roles.
The hubs have been set up inside the offices of South Coast Home Care, which has opened its doors to provide a welcoming space where crews can stop, rest and recharge while on duty. The initiative is designed to offer simple comforts to those working on the frontline, including healthcare staff and emergency responders.
A spokesperson for South Coast Home Care said the hubs are a way of saying thank you to those who work tirelessly to keep local communities safe. Staff are invited to drop in for refreshments, take a break, and enjoy a moment of calm during demanding shifts. There is no need to call ahead, with teams on site ready to welcome visitors whenever it suits them.
Both locations offer a range of facilities, including hot drinks such as tea and coffee, bottled water, herbal teas, cold water dispensers, biscuits and breakfast bars. Other items available include diet drinks, pamper packs with essentials such as deodorants, sanitary products and hand creams, as well as PPE if needed. Comfortable breakout areas are also provided, with toilet facilities available at both sites. The Chichester hub also includes a TV and a dining area with tables and a breakfast bar.
The Chichester wellbeing hub is located at 16 Northgate, PO19 1BJ, opposite Chichester Festival Theatre, and can be contacted on 01243 280022. It is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, with Saturday opening hours from 10am to 4pm starting later this month.
The Littlehampton hub, at 1 Manor Parade, Church Street, BN17 5AH, is a smaller but equally welcoming space and can be reached on 01903 804007.
South Coast Home Care says its friendly teams are always ready to welcome frontline workers and offer a place to put their feet up, even if only for a short while.
