A shopfront in Rustington was badly damaged after a car crashed into the premises yesterday morning.

A shopfront in Rustington was badly damaged after a car crashed into the premises yesterday morning.

The incident happened at around 11.05am on Tuesday (September 9), when a vehicle collided with The Grape Tree store in Littlehampton.

Images posted online show the shop’s front window smashed, with glass and debris scattered across the floor.

Sussex Police confirmed that no one was injured in the collision. No arrests were made and the vehicle has since been recovered.

Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances of the crash.

Officers are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage from the area, to contact police online or by calling 101, quoting serial 500 of 09/09.
