A popular West Sussex houseplant brand is expanding its presence in Chichester with the opening of a new shop in the city centre.
The Little Botanical has confirmed it will open a new store at Fernleigh on North Street, building on the success of its first bricks-and-mortar shop in Runcton. The new location will bring the company’s range of British-grown, peat-free houseplants into the heart of Chichester.
Since opening its first shop in 2023, The Little Botanical has continued to grow its retail offering. While best known for its indoor plants, the brand has expanded to include plant pots, gifting, homewares and plant care essentials. The new Fernleigh store will mirror that carefully curated approach, with an emphasis on sustainability, quality and considered design.
Most of the plants on sale are grown at the company’s West Sussex nursery using peat-free soil, alongside a selection of stylish pots and complementary lifestyle products. The shop has been designed to create a calm and welcoming environment, encouraging customers to browse and enjoy choosing plants in person.
Co-founder Morag Hill says the move is an exciting step for the business, describing Chichester as an important location close to the company’s roots. She says the new shop will allow the team to connect more closely with the local community and offer customers a relaxed and inspiring shopping experience.
Fernleigh has quickly established itself as a destination for shopping, wellbeing, food and drink in Chichester, with spaces designed for work, leisure and community use. It recently welcomed Cowdray Farm Shop, bringing produce from the Cowdray Estate into the city centre.
The Little Botanical at Fernleigh is set to open on the 1st of February 2026. It’s aimed at both experienced plant enthusiasts and those new to houseplants, with staff on hand to offer friendly advice and guidance.
