West Sussex Conservatives to deliver record budget for highways

West Sussex Conservatives are delivering the biggest Highways budget for years, investing in West Sussex’s highways.

They council have announced they will be spending £41.1 million on West Sussex Highways. 

They will be spending £2.6 million on safety critical areas, £1.1 million on safety defects on the network, £0.3 million on jetting and £0.3 on trees next to the highway network. 

There will also be additional funding put into place for overgrown vegetation clearance, sign cleaning and white line renewal.

There will also be a staff increase with 3 new highway stewards and 2 additional road safety officers.
