An amber heat-health alert has come into force across the South as temperatures continue to rise.
Forecasters say some inland areas could see temperatures exceed 30°C between now and tomorrow, raising concerns about the impact of the hot weather on vulnerable people.
Emergency services are also warning of an increased risk of wildfires as dry conditions continue.
People are being urged not to use barbecues or light fires in the countryside, where flames can spread quickly and cause significant damage.
Residents are also advised to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun and check on elderly or vulnerable neighbours during the hottest part of the day.
