Many people across the Chichester area will remember Camilla Chapman – the local woman who is urgently trying to raise £250,000 to help fund specialist cancer treatment.
Camilla Chapman has been overwhelmed by support from the community since sharing her story, and today there’s another chance for people to get involved and show their backing.
A Community Bike-A-Thon is taking place today at West Wittering Parochial Primary School, with the event running throughout the day until 4 o’clock this afternoon. Pupils, families, staff and supporters are taking turns on exercise bikes, clocking up miles to help raise vital funds towards Camilla’s treatment.
The Bike-A-Thon is designed to be inclusive and community-focused, with participants of all ages encouraged to get involved, whether by cycling, donating, or simply turning up to cheer people on. Organisers say every mile completed and every pound raised makes a real difference.
Camilla has previously spoken about how important community support has been during an incredibly difficult time, describing the response from friends, neighbours and strangers alike as both humbling and life-changing. Events like today’s Bike-A-Thon are helping to keep momentum going as she works towards her fundraising target.
Anyone who hasn’t yet had the chance to support the appeal is encouraged to head along before 4pm, or consider donating online. Organisers say even small contributions add up, and today’s event is a reminder of just how powerful a community can be when it comes together for one of its own.
