A fundraiser for a 17-year-old girl from Selsey after a life-changing cancer diagnosis has raised more than £14,000.
Kelcee was diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukaemia in January and is now expected to undergo two years of chemotherapy. Friends, family and the wider community have been raising money to help ease financial pressure on her family and give her the chance to enjoy special moments in the months ahead.
A major fundraising raffle held at The Victory Club proved to be a huge success, bringing together local residents, businesses and supporters for an evening of entertainment and generosity. Organisers say £6,356 was raised on the night through the raffle, as well as a cake sale and games.
In total, 72 prizes were won during the event, helping to create what supporters described as a warm and uplifting atmosphere. Kelcee and her family were also able to attend, seeing first-hand the strength of feeling and support from the local community.
Further donations have also come in through Kelcee’s GoFundMe page, which has now reached £7,412. Organisers say the response has shown how many people across the area have been moved by her story.
Additional support has also come from Infinity Football Club in Sidlesham, which raised another £318 during a recent match.
Special thanks have been given to everyone who donated prizes, bought raffle tickets, baked cakes, volunteered their time or attended the event. V2 has also been thanked for its continued support.
The fundraising total now stands at more than £14,086, in what has been described as a remarkable show of kindness and community spirit from Selsey and the surrounding area.
