Heart patients in Chichester are being promised faster scans and better care thanks to new technology now in use at St Richard’s Hospital.
A state-of-the-art 3D cardiac ultrasound machine has gone live today and is expected to produce results up to 50 per cent faster.
That could help reduce waiting lists and mean patients spend less time in hospital.
The £142,000 machine was funded by the Friends of Chichester Hospitals charity.
Dr Robert Jennings, consultant cardiologist, said “We are extremely grateful to Friends of Chichester Hospitals for their funding as this new equipment will make a tremendous difference to the way we diagnose and treat many of our patients.”
