An online fundraiser set up in memory of Newhaven teenager Joshua Ingram has raised more than £7,000.

16-year-old Joshua was fatally stabbed at Seaford train station last Wednesday. Emergency services were called to the scene, but despite their efforts he was pronounced dead. His death has shocked the local community, with friends, family and residents paying tribute and rallying to support those closest to him.

Family friend Lexi Terry launched the fundraiser to help give Joshua the best send off.

The page quickly gathered support, surpassing its original target as donations poured in from across Sussex and beyond.

Messages left on the site reflect the sense of loss felt by many, with contributors offering both financial help and words of comfort.

Meanwhile at Lewes Crown Court, a judge has warned members of the public that it is illegal to share the identity of the boy charged in connection with the fatal stabbing. Because of the suspect’s age, legal restrictions remain in place.

A trial date has been scheduled for January.

The fundraising campaign continues to grow, offering the family support as they come to terms with their loss.

For those wishing to contribute, the fundraiser remains open online Fundraiser by lexi terry : josh ingram
