West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to a large vehicle fire behind Sainsbury’s in Bognor Regis.
Crews arrived shortly after 2pm yesterday to find a trailer well alight.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a high-pressure hose reel to extinguish the fire.
No one was injured, although the supermarket was evacuated for a short time.
A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said: “We were called at 2pm this afternoon to a large vehicle fire behind Sainsbury’s in Bognor Regis.
“Joint Fire Control mobilised two fire engines to the scene.
“Upon arrival crews found a trailer on fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using a high pressure hose reel.
“Crews left the scene at 3pm.”
