A man from London has been jailed for five years after being found guilty of running a County Line supplying crack cocaine and heroin into Eastbourne.
Shevane Collins, 32, from Lewisham, London, was sentenced at Lewes Crown Court on Friday, 12 September, after being found guilty following a five-day trial.
The investigation revealed that Collins was responsible for co-ordinating the supply of drugs from London into the Hampden Park area of Eastbourne. Evidence showed his vehicle and personal phone numbers were repeatedly linked to drug line activity between September 2020 and January 2021.
Collins was arrested on two occasions - in January 2021, and again in April 2021 - when officers found a wrap of crack cocaine inside his vehicle. A search of his home also uncovered over £3,000 in cash.
He was charged in April 2022 and denied the offences, but a jury found him guilty of being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, as well as possession of crack cocaine.
Detective Constable David Brown, from the Economic Crime Unit, said: “Collins’ offending is a clear example of how County Lines operations exploit communities by flooding them with dangerous Class A drugs.
“We remain committed to disrupting this activity and holding offenders to account”.
Collins will now serve a five-year prison sentence.
