Props used in the new film Pressure, starring Andrew Scott and Brendan Fraser, have gone on display at The D-Day Story in Portsmouth ahead of the film’s cinema release on 9 September.
Original props from the new D-Day film Pressure have gone on display at The D-Day Story in Portsmouth.
The temporary exhibition includes items used during production of the film, which tells the story of the crucial weather forecast that helped determine the timing of the Allied invasion of Normandy in June 1944.
Pressure, produced by STUDIOCANAL and Working Title, stars Andrew Scott as Group Captain James Stagg and Brendan Fraser as General Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Set during the tense days leading up to D-Day on 6 June 1944, the film explores the responsibility placed on military leaders and meteorologists as they considered whether weather conditions were suitable for launching what became the largest amphibious invasion in history.
The D-Day Story has received a selection of original props from the production, including a Fortitude deception plan, Krick's identification card and Stagg's identification card.
The display gives visitors the opportunity to compare the cinematic retelling of events with the museum’s wider collection covering the planning, preparation and execution of D-Day.
It also complements existing exhibitions examining the military operations, leadership and decision-making which contributed to the Normandy landings.

The film highlights the important decisions and planning that helped shape the success of D-Day, and this display offers visitors an opportunity to explore the real events behind the story. As the UK's only museum dedicated to D-Day, The D-Day Story continues to play an important role in preserving and sharing this history with residents and visitors alike.”
The props will remain on display at The D-Day Story until the end of December 2026 and can be viewed as part of normal museum admission.
Pressure is due to be released in cinemas on Wednesday 9 September.
