Plans to build a three-storey, 66-bedroom care home in Chichester have been submitted to the district council.
The application for land south of Longacres Way, was submitted by LNT Care Developments & Hanbury Properties (Chichester) Ltd. It is expected to create up to 60 jobs.
If approved, the development will include 30 parking spaces, including two accessible, six for electric vehicle charging, and six cycle spaces.
A statement submitted with the application said: “The development of this site for a new purpose-built care home will have a positive impact upon the area by developing the site for a use that would be beneficial and fulfil a need, whilst providing a development sympathetic in terms of its scale and design.
“The development would bring economic benefits by creating more employment and economic activity, both during construction and in the long-term operation of the home.
“The design, location and orientation would bring social benefits to both future residents, encouraging integration with the local community, encouraging social cohesion and a sense of place and identity.”
