The RAF Typhoon and Europe’s last airworthy B-17 Flying Fortress will be among the highlights as Airbourne continues in Eastbourne on Friday.
Day Two of the free international airshow will bring another packed programme of military aircraft, historic warbirds and aerobatic displays to the town’s seafront.
The main event site on the Western Lawns will open at 10.30am and close at 5pm. A pre-flying DJ set from Fergus will run at the Bandstand from 11am until 12.45pm, with the flying displays expected to begin around lunchtime and continue until approximately 5pm.

The Typhoon, Sally B and Spirit of Kent Spitfire will join the programme for the first time on Friday.
Sally B was added after the Red Arrows withdrew from the event because adverse weather in North America delayed the team’s return from an American tour.
Eastbourne Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Tourism and Place, Councillor Jenny Williams, said in an official flying update: “Joining the line-up from Friday to Sunday is the iconic Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress ‘Sally B’, the last remaining airworthy example in Europe…”
Exact display times can change because of weather, operational commitments and aircraft serviceability.
The preliminary running order is available in the £10 Airbourne souvenir programme. Programme holders can collect updated daily flying times from official sellers, the Eastbourne Visitor Services Centre, the Information Tent on the Western Lawns or the Seafront Office.
Councillor Williams said: “Plus, every programme sold supports the cost of the flying displays at Airbourne.”
Friday’s entertainment will continue into the evening with a Bee Gees tribute show at Eastbourne Bandstand. Doors open at 7pm and the performance begins at 8pm.
The Five Acres Field Park and Bus site will open from 9am until 7pm. Buses will leave the Sovereign Centre forecourt every 20 minutes from 10am, with return services from Cavendish Place continuing until 7.30pm.
Parking at King Edward’s Parade and the Beachy Head Park and View site will be open from 10am until 6.30pm.
Airbourne continues until Sunday, 16 August. All flying remains subject to weather, aircraft serviceability and operational commitments.
