Parts of the South could see snow showers towards the end of the week and into Monday, according to the Met Office.
Forecasters say colder air is set to move in, increasing the chance of wintry weather across Hampshire and Sussex. While details are still being refined, snow showers are currently in the outlook, particularly over higher ground and during overnight and early morning periods.
Alongside the risk of snow, temperatures are expected to drop, bringing icy conditions in some areas. Even where snowfall is light, untreated roads and pavements could become slippery, especially overnight.
Transport operators across the region are monitoring the situation, with councils ready to grit roads if conditions deteriorate. Drivers are being urged to plan ahead, allow extra time for journeys and check road conditions before travelling.
Residents are also advised to be prepared at home, with the Met Office recommending people check heating systems, keep essential supplies topped up and look out for vulnerable neighbours.
