A Summerley Care Home staff member in Bognor Regis is preparing to take on a 13-mile coastal challenge to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Vicki Marshall, 57, will be taking part in the Trek26 Jurassic Coast Challenge, walking along one of the UK’s most striking coastal routes in support of people affected by dementia.
The Jurassic Coast is known for its dramatic cliffs, sweeping sea views and demanding terrain, making the trek a tough physical challenge as well as a meaningful fundraiser.
Vicki, who works at Summerley Care Home, says the cause is close to her heart because of the people she supports every day.
“Dementia touches the lives of so many of the people we care for,” Vicki shared. “Taking on this trek felt like a meaningful way to honour them and to help raise money for a charity that provides essential support, research, and hope.”
The Alzheimer’s Society provides support, guidance and information for individuals and families affected by dementia across the UK. The charity also funds research aimed at improving care, developing better treatments and working towards a cure.
Summerley Care Home says Vicki’s decision to take part reflects the dedication and compassion she brings to her role, supporting residents living with dementia and their families.
The care home is now encouraging the local community, families and friends to support Vicki’s fundraising efforts, with donations of any size helping to make a difference.
Funds raised through the Trek26 challenge will go towards the Alzheimer’s Society’s work, helping to provide vital services and hope for those affected by the condition.
Donations can be made through Vicki’s Trek26 fundraising page at JustGiving. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Trek26JurassicCoast202613miles-VickiMarshall?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL
Summerley Care Home says it is incredibly proud of Vicki’s commitment, both in her daily work and in taking on the Jurassic Coast challenge, and wishes her strength, good weather and steady footing for the walk.
