Rapid action by police has led to three people being arrested and charged following an incident involving dangerous driving and weapons near Chichester.
Officers were involved in a short pursuit at around 18:30 on Monday (5 January) after a vehicle failed to stop.
Police say they quickly carried out a tactical stop to prevent the incident from continuing into the city centre.
Weapons were seized from the vehicle, and two boys aged 16 and 17, along with a 19-year-old man, were arrested in connection with the incident.
George Lowman, 19, of Whyke Road, Chichester was charged on Tuesday (6 January) at Worthing Magistrates’ Court with possession of a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place. He has been bailed until his next court appearance on 10 February.
A 17-year-old boy was charged on Tuesday (6 January) at Worthing County Court with failing to stop when directed by a police constable, driving a motor vehicle dangerously, driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, use of a motor vehicle on a road or in a public space without third party insurance and failing to comply with a community protection notice. He has been bailed until his next court appearance on 26 February.
A 16-year-old boy was charged on Tuesday (6 January) at Worthing Magistrates’ Court with failing to comply with a community protection order. He has been bailed until his next court appearance on 26 February.
