Charities and community organisations across West Sussex are being invited to apply for £1,500 in funding through a new scheme launched by Avisford Park Hotel.

The hotel, based in Walberton near Arundel, has launched its Community Fund to support a local cause or organisation working in the county.

The money could be used for a range of community projects, including improvements to sports facilities, support for youth clubs, Scouts or Guides, community spaces, church roofs or sensory gardens.

Applications are open to charities, community groups, local causes and organisations based in West Sussex.

Nominations must be submitted by midnight on Friday, 18 September, 2026.

Applicants must be aged 18 or over and authorised to apply on behalf of their organisation, with one application allowed per group.

They will be asked to explain the work their organisation carries out, who would benefit from the funding and how the £1,500 would be spent.

After applications close, an independent judging panel will select four finalists based on the potential impact of each proposal.

The shortlisted organisations will then go forward to a week-long public vote to decide which group receives the full £1,500.

The winner will be announced at an event attended by the finalists.

Siu Mok, General Manager of Avisford Park Hotel, said: “We are incredibly proud to be part of the West Sussex community and wanted to create something that would allow us to provide meaningful support to a local cause.

“We know there are so many fantastic charities, groups and organisations doing important work across the county, often with limited resources and we want to give one of them a helping hand.

“We are really looking forward to hearing about the organisations that apply and finding out how our £1,500 could make a genuine difference. We would encourage anyone involved with a local cause to put forward their nomination and tell us why their organisation deserves our support.”

The winning organisation will be required to use the money for the purpose set out in its successful application.

Applications can be made through the Avisford Park Hotel Community Fund page before the September 18 deadline.
