Three people have been arrested after a public order incident in Worthing.
Police say a group of individuals were seen throwing gravel, vape liquid, and verbally abusing members of the public from the roof of a building on South Street, just after 7pm on Wednesday (08/04/2026)
A 22-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of intentionally or recklessly causing a public nuisance, using threatening, abusing, or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress, and common assault, she has been given a community resolution.
An 18-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of intentionally or recklessly causing a public nuisance, and failing to comply with a community protection order, and an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of using threatening, abusing, or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress. They have been bailed whilst investigations are ongoing.
Officers are conducting an ongoing investigation pursuing multiple lines of enquiry and encourage anyone who witnessed the incident or who has relevant information such as CCTV or mobile footage to come forward.
