With the London Marathon set to take place next Sunday, runners from across the South are preparing to join thousands of participants for one of the world’s most iconic races.
The event will see competitors take to the streets of the capital, beginning their 26.2-mile journey at Greenwich Park and finishing near Buckingham Palace. The route passes many of London’s most famous landmarks and attracts huge crowds of spectators each year.
Among those taking part will be runners from Sussex, Hampshire and beyond, many of whom are using the challenge to raise money for charities close to their hearts. From personal causes to national organisations, the marathon continues to be a major fundraising event, generating millions of pounds annually.
At V2 Radio, we’re keen to highlight local runners from across the South who are taking part this year, especially those going the extra mile to support a good cause. Whether it’s your first marathon, a personal challenge, or part of a wider fundraising effort, we want to hear your story.
Sharing these experiences not only celebrates the achievements of those taking part, but also helps shine a light on the important causes they are supporting.
If you or someone you know is running in this year’s London Marathon and raising money for charity, you can get in touch with the news team by emailing news@v2radio.co.uk.
