Hundreds of households in Eastbourne have been left without running water or are experiencing low water pressure following a suspected burst water main.
Residents across parts of the town reported issues earlier today, with some saying taps had run dry while others were seeing only a trickle of water coming through.
The disruption comes just days after the chief executive of South East Water apologised for a series of outages that affected customers across Sussex and Kent in December and January.
In a statement posted online, South East Water said: “We're really sorry to those of you who are experiencing low water pressure or no water at the moment. Investigations are still underway but the loss of supply is likely to have been caused by a burst main.
“As soon as the repairs have been completed, your water will return to normal.”

Engineers have been deployed to investigate the problem and carry out repairs, although it is not yet clear how long it will take for full service to be restored.
Customers are being advised to monitor updates online while work continues to restore normal service as quickly as possible.
