Charities and community organisations across the Isle of Wight are being invited to meet potential funders and learn more about accessing financial support at an event in Newport.
Meet the Funders 2026 will take place at the Riverside Centre on Friday, 11 September, bringing together local and national funding organisations for a day of presentations, workshops and networking.
The event is open to organisations of all sizes, from small grassroots groups to larger charities. It has been designed to help attendees better understand the funding landscape and develop relationships with potential funders.
Participants will be able to hear directly from funding providers, attend topic-based workshops and apply for one-to-one appointments to discuss their projects and financial requirements in greater detail.
The event is being organised by the Isle of Wight Council’s Family and Community Team alongside Community Action Isle of Wight.
Teresa Brimble-Brennan, supporting families project worker, said: “Securing funding is a challenge faced by many organisations, particularly at a time when demand for community services continues to grow.
“Meet the Funders provides a valuable opportunity for local groups and charities to connect directly with funding providers, learn about available opportunities and gain practical advice that could help turn ideas into reality.
“We would encourage organisations to book their place early and make the most of what promises to be an informative and beneficial day.”
The event will run from 9am until 4pm, with registration taking place between 9.15am and 9.30am.
Places are limited, while workshop spaces and one-to-one appointments will be allocated on an organisational basis. Each organisation will be asked to nominate one representative to attend these sessions.
Organisers said every effort would be made to provide attendees with options that help them gain the greatest benefit from the event.
Lunch will also be available to pre-book, with payment required on the day.
Organisations wishing to attend must register online by noon on Monday, 24 August.
