Picturedrome in Bognor Regis closed over fire safety concerns

The Picturedrome cinema in Bognor Regis has been closed until further notice after concerns were raised over fire safety.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that a prohibition notice has been served on the venue, preventing it from operating while the concerns are addressed.

A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said: "A prohibition notice has been served on the Picturedrome in Bognor Regis due to fire safety concerns and the site is now closed until further notice."

On the Picturedrome website, the cinema says it is proactively working with the fire service in an effort to resolve the issues and reopen as soon as possible.

No date has been announced for when the Picturedrome may reopen.

The closure affects one of Bognor Regis’s best-known entertainment venues, with customers being advised to check directly with the cinema for the latest information about screenings and bookings.

Further details about the nature of the fire safety concerns have not yet been released.
