Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a cyclist was seriously injured in a collision in Cosham.

The incident happened on Wootton Street, at its junction with Wayte Street, between 11.15am and 11.25am on Friday, 7 August.

It involved a silver Jaguar XF and an electrically-assisted pedal cycle.

Police said the cyclist suffered a serious foot injury after the driver allegedly attempted to pass him and ran over his foot.

A 46-year-old man from Portsmouth was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving. He has since been released under investigation while further enquiries continue.

Officers investigating the collision want to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened, particularly motorists with relevant dashcam footage.

Anyone with information is asked to call Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary on 101, quoting reference 44260381458.
