Motorists are continuing to face severe delays on the A27 eastbound between Falmer and Lewes.
The disruption is linked to construction work for a new Greggs at a nearby service station, with one lane remaining closed while the work is carried out.
Drivers using the route have reported delays of up to an hour during peak periods, with traffic building along the eastbound carriageway.
The A27 is one of the main routes through East Sussex, connecting Brighton, Lewes and other parts of the county. As a result, the lane closure has caused significant disruption for commuters, local residents and people travelling through the area.
Motorists are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys, particularly during the morning and evening rush hours, when delays are expected to be at their worst.
The roadworks are expected to remain in place until the 15th of May.
Drivers planning to use the A27 eastbound between Falmer and Lewes are being urged to check travel updates before setting off and consider alternative routes where possible.
The works have prompted frustration from some road users, with reports of long queues and slow-moving traffic as vehicles are filtered through the reduced carriageway.
