Midhurst will be stepping back in time this Saturday as the town hosts a Medieval Day for all the family.
The free event takes place on Saturday, 2 May 2026, from 11am until 3pm, with activities being held across Market Square, St Ann’s Hill and Cowdray Ruins.
Visitors will be able to enjoy a range of medieval-themed entertainment, including re-enactments to watch and join in with, as well as arts, crafts and family activities.
There will also be the chance to try activities such as axe throwing and archery, alongside birds of prey displays, storytelling, music and food.
The event is designed to bring history to life in the heart of Midhurst, giving families the chance to experience the sights and sounds of the medieval period in a fun and accessible way.
Market Square will be one of the main hubs for the day, with further activities taking place at nearby St Ann’s Hill. Cowdray Ruins will also be part of the event, with the kitchen open for visitors.
Organisers say there will be plenty to see and do throughout the day, making it suitable for children and adults alike.
The event runs from 11am to 3pm and is free to attend.
Midhurst’s historic setting is expected to provide the perfect backdrop for the day, with the mix of re-enactments, hands-on activities and entertainment helping to create a lively medieval atmosphere.
Families are being encouraged to head along, explore the town and enjoy a day of history, food and fun.
The venue for the event is Market Square, Midhurst, GU29 9NJ, with activities also taking place nearby.
