The Chichester International Film Festival is returning this summer with a packed programme of cinema, live events and open air screenings.

Running from 7 to 23 August, the festival is one of the South Coast’s most anticipated cultural events and will once again bring together film lovers from across the region.

The event will open with its popular open air screenings in Priory Park, with five films already announced for the opening weekend.

This year’s outdoor line-up includes the 1993 blockbuster Jurassic Park, romantic comedy Pretty Woman, the family favourite Babe, the 2025 hit Song Sung Blue, and Star Wars: A New Hope.

The screening of Star Wars offers audiences a rare chance to see the original 1977 adventure on the big screen.

While the full festival programme has not yet been revealed, organisers say this year’s event will include exclusive premieres, film talks, international cinema, live music and screenings across a range of themes.

Walter Francisco, Festival Director, said: “Our 2026 programme celebrates the variety and creativity of fantastic cinema.”

He added: “From treasured screen adaptations and tributes to legendary performers, to a dedicated strand of music films and live music events, this year’s Festival offers something for every film lover. We’re also delighted to present outstanding international cinema, educational film talks and an exciting selection of UK and world premieres. We can’t wait to welcome audiences to Chichester this summer for what promises to be an exceptional Festival.”

The open air screenings begin with Star Wars: A New Hope on Friday 7 August at 7.45pm. Babe and Pretty Woman will be shown on Saturday 8 August, followed by Jurassic Park and Song Sung Blue on Sunday 9 August.

The festival will also work with venues across the region, including The Windmill in Littlehampton, CineVic in Arundel, Picturedrome in Bognor and The Lumiere pop-up cinema at New Park.

The full programme will be announced on 24 July, with open air screening tickets available now.
