Flight EZY87PX issued the emergency alert at around 9.05pm on Wednesday evening after departing from Gatwick Airport.
The aircraft had been travelling south towards Ibiza when the emergency was declared.
The flight diverted to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
The reason for the emergency has been confirmed as a "technical issue".
Flight tracking information showed the aircraft changing course while over northern France, before heading towards the Paris area.
The flight was originally bound for Ibiza, one of EasyJet’s popular summer routes from Gatwick, with many passengers likely travelling for holidays.

Aviation emergencies can be declared for a range of reasons, including technical issues, medical incidents, or precautionary decisions made by the flight crew.
Declaring an emergency allows the aircraft to receive priority handling from air traffic control and emergency services on the ground if required.
Paris Charles de Gaulle is one of Europe’s major airports and is equipped to handle diverted flights and emergency landings.
The emergency showed the aircraft's callsign on FlightRadar24 as EZY87PX, but EasyJet has now confirmed it was flight EZY8105.
A spokesperson for EasyJet says: “Flight EZY8105 from London Gatwick to Ibiza yesterday diverted to Paris due to a technical issue and was delayed overnight.
"We did all we could to minimise the disruption for our customers, including providing hotel accommodation and meals and any customers who arranged their own will be reimbursed.
"The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is always easyJet’s highest priority, and we are sorry for the inconvenience this will have caused.”
