Flight EZY87PX issued the emergency alert at around 9.05pm on Wednesday evening after departing from Gatwick Airport.
The aircraft had been travelling south towards Ibiza when the emergency was declared.
It is understood the flight is now diverting to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
The reason for the emergency has not yet been confirmed.
Flight tracking information showed the aircraft changing course while over northern France, before heading towards the Paris area.
The flight was originally bound for Ibiza, one of EasyJet’s popular summer routes from Gatwick, with many passengers likely travelling for holidays.
