Campaigners are to hold a public meeting to update people on the Homes England planning application to build 3,000 homes West of Ifield.
The Save West of Ifield group will host the meeting at Ifield Drive Community Centre on Thursday (July 23) from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
Horsham District Council’s draft Local Plan consultation will also be discussed.
Originally the aim was for the council to decide the application early in 2026 but September now seems more likely due to changes made to the plans.
Announcing the meeting on social media, a Save West of Ifield spokesman said there were ‘significant unresolved issues’ which had not been properly addressed.
They told people: “The time to be outraged is now. Why is it taking Horsham so long to make a decision on the West of Ifield planning application? We need to have a last push to stop this now.”
A spokesman for Horsham District Council said: “The applicant submitted an amended application package in April, including amended documents and plans.
“The submission comprises a series of plans and document, amendments and clarifications of the proposed development. It responds to the statutory and non-statutory consultation responses, following the submission of the application in August 2025.
“Horsham District Council has undertaken consultation to allow for comments to be made on the amendments. If any interested parties have not been reconsulted, but would like to comment on the amended information, they can continue to do so via the council’s website.
“As a result of the addendum pack, further amendments and clarifications have been identified by some consultees. The applicant is currently working on submitting further details to address these comments.
“The determination period for the application has therefore been extended to allow the council time to consider these further submissions.”
