Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was injured in an assault in Southampton.
The incident happened at around 8pm on Saturday 16 May, in the West Quay and Harbour Parade area.
It was reported that three boys, believed to be around 14 years old, threw a ‘wet floor’ sign from the side of West Quay.
The sign struck a woman who was walking along Harbour Parade, hitting her on the head and causing her to suffer two black eyes.
Police say the boys then continued to throw stones at passing pedestrians.
Officers have been carrying out enquiries in the area, and are now turning to the public for help.
They are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen or heard anything suspicious.
Investigators are also asking anyone with relevant footage to come forward. This could include mobile phone video, dashcam footage from vehicles travelling nearby, or CCTV from businesses and properties in the area.
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 44260237175.
Alternatively, people can report information 100 per cent anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111, or by visiting the Crimestoppers website.
