Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has appointed Chief Inspector Linda Davies as the new District Commander for Winchester.
Chief Inspector Davies took up the role in August 2026, replacing Chief Inspector Korine Bishop, who has moved to a role in Learning and Development.
She has served with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary for 19 years and has worked in a range of policing roles across the county.
Chief Inspector Davies began her career as a Police Community Support Officer in Winchester in 2007 before becoming a Police Constable in 2012, working in Response and Patrol in Portsmouth.
She has also served as a Custody Sergeant and as Staff Officer to Assistant Chief Constable Paul Bartolomeo, before being promoted to Inspector in Totton.
Before returning to Winchester, she worked on performance and officer retention, helping to support and develop the force’s workforce.
Speaking about her new role, Chief Inspector Linda Davies said: “Returning to Winchester as District Commander feels very much like coming full circle. Nineteen years ago, I started my policing journey here, and I am genuinely over the moon to be back.
“Winchester is a fantastic district with strong communities and dedicated partners. My priority is to ensure we continue to provide visible policing, tackle the issues that matter most to residents, and work closely with our communities to keep Winchester a safe place to live, work and visit.
“I look forward to meeting residents, businesses and community groups across the district and serving the people of Winchester in this new role.
