London Gatwick has welcomed a new airline, as German carrier Condor launches its first UK route with regular flights to Frankfurt.
The new service, which began this week, will operate three times a day, connecting London with one of Europe’s leading financial and cultural hubs. The route is expected to appeal to both business travellers and holidaymakers, while also offering improved onward connections across Europe and beyond.
Airport officials say the addition strengthens Gatwick’s short-haul network and enhances access to Frankfurt Airport — one of the continent’s busiest international gateways, with links to destinations worldwide.
Jonny Macneal, Head of Aviation Development at London Gatwick, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Condor to London Gatwick, offering passengers even greater choice with this new, frequent service to Frankfurt. Whether travelling for work, leisure or to see loved ones, the route provides fantastic flexibility and connectivity. Condor’s arrival marks yet another exciting landmark in what has been a period of significant growth for the airport.”
The airline says the new route forms part of a wider expansion of its European network, with London seen as a key destination.
David Carlisle, Vice President Network Planning and Partnerships at Condor, said: “Today’s inaugural flight to London Gatwick marks another important milestone in the expansion of our European route network. London is one of Europe’s most sought-after destinations, both for business travellers and short city breaks. We are delighted to offer our guests up to three daily frequencies, providing maximum flexibility as well as convenient access to our long-haul network to Africa and Asia.”
The launch marks the latest addition to Gatwick’s growing list of airline partners.
