A free celebration of skateboarding, scooting and BMX riding is returning to Chichester Skatepark.
The Skate, Scoot and Bike event will feature stunt displays, coaching and equipment to borrow.
There’ll also be music, a climbing wall, Nerf Battle Zone, face painting, food stalls and activities for families.
It’s taking place on Sunday 6th September.
The event will feature impressive displays from leading experts and local talent, including Chichester-based rollerblader Jamie Stenner — who runs ESP skate shop in Chichester — a BMX demonstration from the UK's Leading BMX Stunt Team, Fusion Extreme, and scooter coaching from record breaker Terry Price. Equipment will be available to borrow for people of all ages so that they can try out the different disciplines and build their confidence.
There will also be music, a Nerf 'Battle Zone', a pop-up spray studio, a mobile climbing wall and face painting, alongside food and drink stalls. A variety of stands will be supporting the day, including Vintro Clothing; West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, and fun games with Chichester Rotary.
Councillor Harsha Desai, Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Communications, Licensing and Events, says: "This is the third year that the Skate, Scoot and Bike event has taken place, and after last year's fantastic turnout this event is set to bring even more hands-on fun in a welcoming and inclusive setting. There will be something for everyone, whether you're completely new to these activities or already enjoy two-wheel sports.
"The skatepark is such a valuable local community facility that was funded and built by Chichester District Council. This is a brilliant opportunity to motivate people to build their skills in a fun, inclusive environment with some leading experts who will no doubt wow everyone with their abilities.
"Some of the regular skatepark users will also be displaying their skills which we hope will provide inspiration for anyone who is new to skating, scootering or biking. Several world champions began their journeys at Chichester skatepark and have inspired many local people to start using the skatepark and develop new skills.
"We hope that this year even more people will get involved and take the opportunity to borrow equipment, grow in confidence and enjoy the community atmosphere."
