Residents in Portsmouth turning 100 this year are invited to a special celebration.
Portsmouth City Council is inviting residents celebrating their 100th birthday this year to take part in a special shared milestone, as the city marks 100 years since gaining official city status.
To mark the centenary, a dedicated tea party will be held on Friday 28 September 2026, with venue details to be confirmed.
The event will bring together people born in 1926, recognising their lives, experiences and contributions to Portsmouth over the past century.
Those eligible must have been born in Portsmouth or currently live in the city.
Councillor Pitt, Leader of Portsmouth City Council said: “This is a great opportunity to celebrate the people who have lived through the same hundred years that Portsmouth has grown and thrived as a city.
“The tea party will be a celebration of their lives, their memories and their place in Portsmouth’s story.
“Please spread the word to friends, family and neighbours so they don’t miss the chance to be part of this special celebration.”
To submit details of a centenarian, please send their name, date of birth and postal address to registrars@portsmouthcc.gov.uk
