Police are investigating a robbery at a Boots store in Whiteley and are appealing for the public’s help to identify a man they believe could assist with their enquiries.
The incident is reported to have taken place at around 1pm on 9th March, when a man entered the store and allegedly concealed a number of items inside his jacket. The goods are said to be worth a total of £482.
Officers say the suspect then left the store without making any attempt to pay for the items.
As part of their investigation, police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident. They believe he may have important information that could help progress enquiries.
No injuries were reported during the incident, and it is understood the theft was carried out without any direct confrontation. However, police are treating the matter seriously and are continuing to follow a number of lines of enquiry.
Officers are now urging anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image, or who may have witnessed the incident, to come forward.
They are also keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen anything suspicious, or who may have relevant information that could assist the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police by calling 101, or by submitting details online, quoting reference 44260115007.
