Police are appealing for a woman who may have witnessed an assault which left a man with several broken bones in Southsea.
The incident happened on Albert Road, between the junctions of Leopold Street and St Ronans Road, sometime between 1.15am and 1.30am on Saturday, 18 July.
A 45-year-old man was assaulted by a group of people and suffered broken ribs, a broken nose, a fractured cheekbone, an injury to his ear and bruising.
Officers believe a woman walked past while the assault was taking place and may have important information which could help their investigation.
Police have released an image of the woman, although they acknowledged it was unclear and did not show her face. They hope she will recognise herself and contact officers as soon as possible.
Investigators are also appealing for anyone else who witnessed the incident or has information about what happened to come forward.
An 18-year-old man from Birmingham and a 20-year-old man from Portsmouth were arrested on suspicion of assault.
Both men have since been released on police bail until 17 October while enquiries continue.
