An urgent appeal has been launched by Bognor Regis Foodbank as organisers ask people to help support families and individuals in crisis.
The foodbank, based at The Hope Centre at Saint Wilfrid Church in Ellasdale Road, is calling for donations of essential items including tinned meat, fruit, soup and other long-life goods.
Organisers are asking shoppers to consider buying a little extra during their weekly shop, to help provide emergency food for people facing hardship across the Bognor Regis area.
Bognor Regis Foodbank says it relies on the goodwill and support of the local community to continue its work. Its website says the foodbank helped more than 4,000 people in 2025 and has been supporting local people since opening in 2012.
The foodbank says food donations are vital in helping provide a balanced and nutritious three-day supply of food to people referred for support.
Donation points are available at several local supermarkets, including Tesco Superstore in Shripney Road, Sainsbury’s in Shripney Road, Morrisons in London Road, Iceland in Bognor High Street, Lidl in Felpham, and Co-op stores in Bognor, Rose Green, Yapton and Barnham. Donations can also be taken directly to The Hope Centre during opening hours.
The centre is open on Tuesdays from 11.30am to 1.30pm and 2pm to 4pm, Thursdays from 11am to 1pm, and Fridays from 10.30am to 2.30pm.
Anyone who can help is being urged to donate what they can, as demand for emergency food support continues.
