Businesses across the Chichester District are being encouraged to find out more about a new series of council grants on offer.
Chichester District Council has allocated £90,000 across three grant schemes, aimed at supporting start-up businesses, helping small firms grow and strengthen sustainability, and encouraging investment in innovation and technology.
The programme is building on previous council grant schemes that have already helped local businesses invest in growth and make improvements to equipment, fixtures and operations.
The Start-up Grant is designed to help new businesses with some of the costs involved in getting established. Grants of up to £750 will be available, with no match funding required from applicants. This fund will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Business Growth Fund will offer grants of up to £3,000 towards projects that help small businesses grow, improve productivity and support long-term sustainability. Funding can cover up to 75% of eligible project costs, including investment in equipment, training, marketing, digital improvements and premises upgrades. Applications for this fund close on Friday 31 July.
A third scheme, the Business Innovation Fund, will provide grants of up to £10,000 towards larger projects. These could include investment in innovation, technology, productivity improvements, premises adaptations and market expansion. Funding can cover up to 50% of total project costs, with projects required to have a minimum value of £8,000. Applications also close on Friday 31 July.
Councillor Harsha Desai, Cabinet Member for Growth, Economic Development, Communications, Licensing and Events at Chichester District Council, says: "As a council we are always really keen to support businesses in the district. It is important that we help businesses grow where we can as this helps to boost the local economy which in turn then benefits local people and improves their quality of life.
"We have seen how grants such as this can make a big difference to local businesses, and so we hope that businesses will check if they are eligible and find out how to apply."
More details will be available on the Funding opportunities page of Chichester District Council’s website when the scheme launches.
