The family of a 14-year-old boy who died in Southampton on Sunday 21 June have described him as a “beautiful, loved boy”.
Police were called at 12.29pm on Sunday 21 June by South Central Ambulance Service who were providing treatment to Leo Gurr who had been located in an alleyway at Binstead Close, Southampton, by members of the public after he had collapsed.
A file is being prepared for the coroner, who will fully investigate the circumstances to establish the cause of death
Leo’s family has asked police to issue a tribute on their behalf.
They said: “Leo was a larger-than-life character, absolutely wild, always laughing uncontrollably over the smallest of things. Leo was the eldest of three brothers, he made us parents and we grew together. The gap already left without Leo’s presence is huge. Leo’s love for motorbikes and pushbikes was evident, and we hope he’s riding that back wheel wherever he may be. No more tracking his location, no more phone calls to send money.
“Leo we are all broken without you, life will never be the same. Thank you for blessing us with 14 beautiful years of you. You were and always will be so loved by all your family and friends. You read about tragedies like this but never expect it to happen to you.
“To see all the love pouring through from friends in every area inside and outside the city is so comforting. Beautiful, loved boy.
“Thank you to our neighbours who did everything they could to help Leo, South Central Ambulance Service and the air ambulance crew who worked relentlessly in the heat. Rest peacefully our boy xx”.
